When Donna sees Kevin lounging on the couch covered in chip dust, she shames him into hitting the gym. Kevin is confounded when he tries to figure out how to use the elliptical machine, until he gets a little help from a stranger (played by guest star Jim Belushi). The two become instant friends, leading Kevin to invite the man over for dinner. Kevin and his new friend hit it off until Donna pulls Kevin aside and tells him that she suspects his new friend might be a communist. Kevin spends the rest of the night interrogating James to see if he’s really a friend or a filthy red.
